With the auto industry changing at an extremely quick pace millions of people would argue that cars in the 70s were much better than the ones that are created today. The cars today are not bad, but are they made with the same quality as the cars in the 70s? Are they engineered to last for 40 or 50 years? Lets look at some of the cars from the 70s that we will never forget.
In 1970 the Chevelle SS 454 LS6 was created. This vehicle was truly remarkable for its time. It was one of the best cars GM has ever released. This incredible vehicle won many awards including the one for best design. The 1970s Chevelle was also one of the most powerful cars for its time. It had a 450 horsepower engine, making it one of the most powerful cars released that year by any car company.
Next year the show was stolen by the Chevrolet Corvette LS6. This vehicle is one of the vehicles that sets the standard for sports vehicles for its time. It was very good looking and it turned a lot of heads in 1971. This Corvette came it 425 horsepower engine, making it one of the fastest cars on the road. Not only was it powerful, but it was extremely tough. The engines at that time were made to last for a long time. One of the interesting things about this vehicle is that it came with aluminum cylinder heads.
The 1978 Trans Am was one of the cars that we will never forget. Owning one of these in 1978 was seen as a privilege. It had an incredible suspension which made this vehicle handle better than any other vehicle on the market at that time. This incredible vehicle was equipped with a 4 speed gear box and a 350 horsepower engine. This vehicle was a leader on the market with its great looks, handling and power.
One of the best vehicles in the 1970s was the Plymouth Superbird. This vehicle was the one to get if you were on the market for a new car in 1970.This muscle car brought outstanding performance and good looks to a whole new level. It was manufactured by Chrysler Corporation in Detroit and it definitely is one of the vehicles that made an impact on the early 1970s. This incredible vehicle came with three different transmission options. You could get a four speed manual or two or three speed automatic. It also came with three different engines from which buyers could choose. It had a 426 Hemi V8,440 Super Commando V8, and the most impressible one was the 440 Super Commando Six Barrel V8.This vehicle was designed to look great as well as perform when tested on the road. This was one of the top vehicles to own in the 1970s.
